Hot Weather H2O Tips for Plants!

When the thermometer says hot, everyone worries about their plants!  Here are a few tips to get them through the heat!

1) Check hanging baskets and planters for water daily. Water thoroughly!

2) Make sure newly-installed landscape plants are deeply watered. Use a soaker hose to deliver water to where it’s needed – the roots!

3) Water early in the morning, not during the heat of the day when valuable water can be lost to evaporation.

4) Watering at night is not ideal but if plants are dry… water!

5) Use mulch on landscape and garden beds. One to two inches of organic mulch conserves needed soil moisture and easily gets the job done.
